You've successfully completed the pre-exam steps to enable your webcam and environmental check and are now at the screen to Start the Exam, but you receive the error message:

"There was a problem fully loading the page. Select try again to try loading the page again or Cancel to exit the browser."

What to do next:

1 - Exit LockDown Browser

2 - Close all open applications and browser windows completely (ie, Force Quit on Mac)

3 - Move closer to your network router (if on home wifi) and/or change your Wifi connection, use a different wifi, or use a network cable connected directly from the router to your computer.

4 - Check your OS version: Students running macOS Ventura must be running LockDown Browser version 2.01.00 or higher for compatibility. Only macOS 10.12 or higher is compatible with LockDown Browser.

What to do next:

4 - Launch LockDown Browser again.

5 - Complete the pre-exam steps in LockDown Browser (ie, webcam, environment check, etc.)

6 - then PAUSE - do not immediately click "Take the Quiz" - why is this important?

Take a pause to allow the quiz to be fully loaded in the background of the browser.

How long should you pause?

This depends on variables like your network connection and speed, computer processor speed, length of the exam, number of questions that need to be loaded on the page. Recommend 5-7 minutes.

7 - If you have access to another device, please try again from the alternative device/network.

What to do next:

8 - If you have completed all of those steps but are still unable to Take the Exam, see step #7 first. If that is not possible, then please reach out to the service desk team by email at help@tulane.edu and include:

Name of assignment/quiz/exam
CourseID and section
Instructor name
If possible, include the text from the error message and an image of the error
And a phone number to reach you.

9 - Be patient for a response

10 - Inform your instructor via Canvas conversations (Inbox) to (1) create awareness that you are experiencing an issue and (2) affirm you have already followed the troubleshooting steps above and have opened a ticket for additional support.
