Using Rubrics
There are two ways to create a Rubric in Canvas. To add a general Rubric without assigning it to a particular assignment, follow option #1. To create and assign a Rubric to a particular assignment, follow option #2.
Option #1: Creating Outcomes
In the course menu, select Outcomes.
Click the Manage Rubrics button, then Add a Rubric.
Option #2: Creating a Rubric for an Assignment
Go to the course menu and select Assignments
Open the assignment you wish to add a rubric to. Click the Add Rubric button at the bottom of the assignment.
Adding and Editing Rubric Criteria
(For both options #1 and #2)
Give the Rubric a title and then click on the first criteria to add a description
To modify, delete, or add ratings, click on the icons shown below.
Edit the point value for each criterion under Pts.
To add additional criterion, click on Add Criterion.
To link the assignment rubric to an outcome, select Find Outcome.
When you are finished, select Create Rubric.
Finding and Adding Rubrics to Other Assignments
To add a rubric to another assignment, click on the Assignment, then Add Rubric. Click on Find a Rubric.
Select the rubric you want to use, then click on Use This Rubric
