Using PowerPoint on the Classroom Computer
If you plan on using PowerPoint presentations in your technologically enhanced classroom. There are a few things to keep in mind...
PowerPoint Settings
In order for your slides to be seen on the front monitor of your classroom you will have to make a number of changes to PowerPoint settings.
Under the Slide Show tab in PowerPoint, make sure under the Monitor dropdown menu that "Primary Monitor" is selected.
You may need to select "Set Up Slide Show" to get to the proper settings.
Make sure "User Presenter View" is unchecked.
Presenter Notes Will be Unavailable
The way the classroom is set up does not allow for presenter notes in PowerPoint to be seen or made available.
If you are in need of the Presenter Notes option, there are a number of cellphone and tablet applications that allow you to view your presenter notes on a separate screen.
Sharing PowerPoint Application in Zoom
In order for your PowerPoint slides to display on the correct monitor in the classroom, faculty will need to share the PowerPoint application rather than share the entire desktop.
Whiteboard Tool
PowerPoint also has a Whiteboard feature that can be enabled when you are presenting slides.
If you scroll down to the bottom left corner of your slide, a small menu should appear with a pencil icon.
Selecting the Pen icon will allow you a number of different annotation tools that you can use on your slides using the touch screen monitor
