Using Flipgrid in Canvas

Creating a Free Account at Flipgrid.com

Tulane does not currently have a Flipgrid license. However, faculty can create free accounts at flipgrid.com using the Microsoft Sign Up, which will ask you to sign up using your tulane.edu email. 

Because we do not have a license, please be advised that some features may not be available. Support for this tool may be limited to Flipgrid Help Center Links to an external site.

Adding Flipgrid to your Canvas Course

Flipgrid can easily be added to Canvas on a course by course basis. This means that you will have to individually activate Flipgrid in every Canvas course you'd like to use the tool with. 

Adding Flipgrid to your course allows you to easily create and share topics with your students.

Using Groups in Flipgrid.com

When you add Flipgrid to a Canvas course, you are creating a group for your class within your Flipgrid account. By creating a group, you can add and distribute topics easily to the students in that group. 

 

 

Groups can be helpful if you ware working in Flipgrid outside of Canvas. You can import topics from tother groups as well as distribute Join Codes for students to create responses outside of Canvas.
