01-Fa20-Biofluid Mechanics
This 3-credit hour class focuses on fundamental concepts and properties of fluid mechanics with application to biological systems. Topics to be covered include basic equations of fluid statics, dynamics and mass transport in differential and integral form using both system and control volume viewpoints, and dimensional analysis and similitude. Rheological properties of biological fluids, blood flow, and airflow through the lungs will be studied.
